Nine special Ex-rated Bio 1+ class I microbiological safety cabinets for storage of volatiles
Here is a selection of major recent orders to give a flavour of Envair's current business:
May 2009
Sothiwattana Co., Ltd, Envair's distributor in Thailand, has placed an order for two further Envair CDC F cytotoxic dispensing isolators. These are for Pattani Hospital in Pattani and Prabudabart Hospital in Saraburi. Both isolators are recirculating models and both are specified with the optional exhaust carbon filter. In addition, the unit for Pattani Hospital has the optional digital display of transfer chamber pressures.
April 2009
Envair Limited is pleased to announce that it has recently been awarded a substantial contract for the manufacture and validation of fourteen bespoke vapour phase hydrogen peroxide gassable isolators in conjunction with Bioquell. The contract, which is for a major government agency, consists of both rigid and flexible film isolators and will be executed in the second half of this calendar year.
April 2009
Two negative pressure CDC F and one positive pressure Pharm-Assist isolators have been selected by North Bristol NHS Trust for the refurbishment of their Aseptic Suite at Southmead Hospital.
March 2009
Specifications have now been finalised for the Aseptic Suite for the Whiston Hospital PFI project. As a result Envair Limited have secured an order for one negative CDC F isolator for cytotoxic preparation and four positive pressure two glove Pharm-Assist isolators. The specification of the isolators includes fully automated pressure decay testing, CCTV, particle monitoring and variable height support frames, this will ensure that all isolators supplied are in excess of current regulations and ergonomic requirements. The project is scheduled to be completed in the second quarter of this year.
March 2009
Envair has been appointed to carry out a refurbishment project at Prince Charles Hospital, Merthyr Tydfil. The project, which includes the supply of a new negative pressure CDC F isolator, relocation of an existing isolator and modifications to the existing Aseptic Suite, is in conjunction with Envair Projects Limited and will be completed in March.
February 2009
Envair has recently been awarded a contract by Medical Air Technology Limited to supply a technetium isolator and blood labelling isolator for the new radiopharmacy development at Northern General Hospital, Sheffield. The design specification, which follows detailed consultations and trials with the end user, includes a 17" LCD touchscreen mounted in the rear wall of the isolator. To read about the benefits of this useful recent addition to features available on Envair isolators, see also. 'Touching the future' and 'The extension of electronic document management systems into isolators'.
January 2009
In continuation of its long standing relationship with Southampton General Hospital, Envair has recently secured the contract to supply two new negative pressure isolators to the Radiopharmacy department. The generator and dispensing isolators are both based on Envair's well-established CDC F range of negative pressure isolators. The generator isolator will be specifically designed to meet the department's requirement to store up to eight technetium generators at any one time and will include a special modified type D transfer hatch and lower reinforced working surface to overcome the ergonomic difficulties in transferring the lead lined generators from the room to the Grade A environment in the main chamber. Delivery and commissioning of these isolators is expected to be completed in April.
January 2009
Following on from a successful turnkey project with Hammersmith Medicines Research at the end of 2008, Envair has been chosen to provide a technetium isolator for the radiopharmacy stage of their development. The negative pressure isolator will incorporate all the usual features of Envair's established technetium isolator design, but with the addition of an enhanced touchscreen PLC control system that communicates directly with the room control system. The touchscreen provides live information on the status of the isolator and transmits critical operating parameters on a daily basis to a networked PC. This removes the need for operators and supervisors to log the isolator performance on a daily basis and provides an improved audit trail for periodic inspections.
January 2009
Critical Certification Pty Limited, Envair's distributor in Australia and New Zealand, has recently secured orders for both positive pressure Pharm-Assist and negative pressure CDC F isolators for hospitals in New Zealand. The initial order for Palmerston North Hospital, was quickly followed by a further order for Wellington Hospital. For more details on Critical Certification Pty Limited, please see the Critical Certification web site.
December 2008
Envair has recently delivered the very first 1.5m CDC F negative pressure isolator to a client in Austria. This model will now be added to the CDC F range of standard isolators which already includes the 2 and 4 glove standard units plus the technetium and blood labelling isolators for radiopharmacy.
The 1.5m CDC F was developed in response to a specific client need - the weighing of a cytotoxic in powder form using a high accuracy balance. It had not proved possible to accommodate the balance comfortably in a standard two glove CDC F model. Envair was therefore tasked with developing the most compact solution that would provide all the internal working space required, be fully accessible for cleaning using only two glove ports and fit within a restricted space.
The isolator was designed along the well-established Envair design principles of unidirectional airflow and high air change rates. As many standard components as possible were utilised to minimise costs. The isolator also includes a 17" LCD touchscreen in the rear wall of the isolator to allow the operator to receive live work instructions and SOP's from the site computer network. This eliminates the risk that the operator can choose incorrect or outdated procedures and also allows live information to be fed back to supervisor level about task progress.

December 2008
Envair has successfully completed the fast-track installation of two CDC F negative pressure isolators in a brand new facility commissioned by Hammersmith Medical Research. The comprehensive turnkey contract, managed by Bassaire subsidiary, Envair Projects Limited, included room fit-out and supply of the Envair Limited isolators. In response to the client's critical timescales, Envair Limited more than halved its standard lead-time to five weeks and delivered and installed on schedule.
December 2008
The demand for Envair negative pressure CDC F isolators continues to increase in the Czech Republic through its distributor DN Formed. In addition to the recent deliveries to Prague and Brno, Envair is currently manufacturing another seven isolators for installation throughout the Czech Republic. This will take place in December 2008 and January 2009. Completion of these current orders will bring the total number of Envair isolators in the country to more than fifty.

Envair has now completed the manufacture and installation of four negative pressure CDC F isolators for the New Victoria Hospital, Glasgow. The isolators, which have now been installed in the new PFI build, include fully automated pressure decay testing, variable height support frames, integral CCTV cameras and an isokinetic sampling head for continuous particle monitoring. The isolator design, build and installation programme was successfully condensed from 12 weeks to 4 weeks in order to meet the time constraints of the trust.
